Ferrer Academy
Ferrer Academy — Hands-on Training That Builds Careers
A Real-World Learning Environment for Real-World Work
At Ferrer Mechanical & Electrical, we believe hands-on training is most effective when it is structured, supported, and directly tied to the work being done in the field. That’s why we built Ferrer Academy — a hands-on training center designed to support apprentices, summer interns, and experienced tradespeople as they develop skills alongside real jobsite experience.
Training at Ferrer Academy includes real, working systems, full-scale mock-ups, and industry-standard equipment. Dedicated time and space in a controlled environment to practice, refine, and reinforce field tasks, with guidance and feedback, strengthens on-the-job performance.
What’s Inside Ferrer Academy?
Ferrer Academy includes dedicated residential, commercial, and trade-specific training spaces built for supervised, hands-on training across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and sheet metal systems.
Highlights include:
- Residential Training Unit – A fully powered and ducted mock residential apartment with HVAC, plumbing, water heater, softener, laundry, bathroom fixtures, exhaust systems, and electrical appliances used for residential system installation, service, and troubleshooting
- HVAC Training Systems – Ductless split systems, baseboard heating, and an outdoor heat pump used for residential HVAC installation, service, and diagnostics
- Live Wiring Boards – Custom-built control schematics used for diagnosing, wiring, and operating furnace and air conditioning systems
- Commercial Plumbing & Piping Room – Domestic water service, thermostatic mixing valves, recirculating systems, and fixture installations used for commercial plumbing system assembly and service training
- Electrical Training Area – Transformers, panels, breakers, switches, and fixtures used for electrical system installation, testing, and troubleshooting

Ferrer Academy expands beyond the training facility, allowing instruction to take place at schools, job sites, and training facilities.
Portable training supports learning and practicing for:

This capability expands access to Ferrer Academy training while maintaining the same hands-on focus and training standards used at the Academy.
